CN2128 SE is a high-performance numerical control, with a 110/230 Vac power supply, internal PCI-E/PCI bus, and the operating systems Windows 7 Embedded and Interval Zero RTX. It is suited to be installed in an electrical enclosure, wall-mounted. It works connected to a supervision PC unit via a dedicated Ethernet network; you can place the CNC in an electrical enclosure, managing remotely the position of the dashboard that hosts the user interface.

This system is particularly suited for large machines, characterized by a large number of axes (roughly up to 128 nodes), or requiring a high processing power to generate paths through complex algorithms. The system is able to provide several fieldbuses, depending on the combinations of PCIe/PCI boards in the CN2128 SE. It is possible to connect more than one CN2128 SE to the same supervisor-PC unit; this can provide a modular control system, particularly apt for a machine line or a large, complex working centre.

Albatros is the development and debugging environment of its automation functions (minimum version 3.2), hosted in the supervision PC.

General Features

  • High-performance numerical control, expandable with PCI-e/PCI boards;

  • the system can support up to 5 PCI boards, 1 16x PCI-e board, and 1 4x PCI-e board; each must be standard-size, in compliance with PCI Express specifications;

  • CE certification, conform to the EMC standards.

EtherCAT function

  • The EtherCAT function is carried out implementing Tpa EtherCAT fieldbus master;

  • the implemented application protocol is the official standard CoE (CANopen over EtherCAT);

  • the EtherCAT bus uses a standard 100BASE-TX Ethernet cable (Cat 5e or higher), that allows for a distance between devices of up to 100 m;

  • transmission cycle time: 1 ms until 32 nodes (I/O and/or drives), 2 ms until 64 nodes, 4 ms until 128 nodes;

  • possibility to write and read the drive parameters;

  • communication and drive diagnostic in real time.

MECHATROLINK II function

  • The MECHATROLINK II bus consists of a half-duplex serial transmission at 10 Mbit/s through a shielded twisted pair, isolated and terminated, with an impedance as provided for in MECHATROLINK II specifications;

  • the implemented protocol is the official drive standard MECHATROLINK II;

  • options on cycle time (real-time): for each channel, 1 ms until 8 drives, 2 ms until 20 drives, 4 ms until 30 drives;

  • possibility to send and read the drive parameters;

  • communication and drive diagnostics in real time;

  • standard PCI board implementing the MECHATROLINK II fieldbus.

DualMECH function
