EXPANSIONS

Tpa expansions connect to the fieldbus coupler through an efficient isochronous serial protocol and facilitate the configuration of the fieldbus node in line with the local connection requirements of sensors and actuators. The expansions may include digital I/Os (equipped with LED indicators and short-circuit proofed), analog I/Os, counters, and so forth.

The expansion modules are all identical despite the different types of communication; the protocol features of the various fieldbuses are in the couplers.

TRS-IO-E

code TRS1.0.01

TRS-IO-E is an expansion unit part of the TRS series, designed to be mounted on DIN rails.

The interface towards the coupler is a TRS bus, that means that, for it to function, the module needs to be connected through that bus to a TRS coupler. Each module has 16 bidirectional digital I/O lines. Each line is configurable either as input or as output.

TRS-IO-E is compliant with the EMC directive 2004/108/EC.

INPUT FUNCTIONS

  • Synchronous input sampling with constant delay;

  • False max. limit <10 Vdc, True min. limit >18 Vdc;

  • current draw of each input: 3 mA.

OUTPUT FUNCTIONS

  • Highest current per output: 0.5 A;

  • output overload and overvoltage protection (36 V);

  • real-time output re-reading (software diagnostics);

  • output activation synchronous with communication on TRS bus.

TRS-AN-E

code TRS1.0.02

TRS-AN-E is an expansion unit part of the TRS series, designed to be mounted on DIN rails.

The interface towards the coupler is a TRS bus, that means that, for it to function, the module needs to be connected through that bus to a TRS coupler. TRS-AN-E manages 1 analog input (16 bits), 1 analog output (16 bits), and it dialogues with a coupler and other expansion units connected to the same TRS bus.

TRS-AN-E includes a precision programmable-gain amplifier, useful to implement the different types of measuring tools. TRS-AN-E also has a precise, integrated voltage reference generator.

TRS-AN-E is compliant with the EMC directive 2004/108/EC.

ANALOG OUTPUT

  • 1 ±10 V differential analog output line, 16-bit resolution and 15 mA maximum current.

ANALOG INPUT

  • 1 ±10 V differential analog input line, 16-bit resolution;

  • low-pass filter at 7 kHz.

I/O PORT FUNCTIONS

  • Synchronous input sampling with constant delay;

  • False max. limit <10 Vdc, True min. limit >18 Vdc;

  • current draw of each input: 3 mA.

TRS-24-E

code TRS1.0.90

TRS-24-E is an expansion unit part of the TRS series, designed to be mounted on DIN rails.

The interface towards the coupler is a TRS bus; that means that, for it to function, the module needs to be connected through that bus to a TRS coupler. Each module can support 8 field power supply points (+24 V) and 8 associated ground points, making the wiring of the I/O signals of the next TRS-IO-E expansion easier.

TRS-AC-E

code TRS1.0.03

TRS-AC-E is an expansion unit part of the TRS series, designed to be mounted on DIN rails.

The interface towards the coupler is a TRS bus; that means that, for it to function, the module needs to be connected through that bus to a TRS coupler.

TRS-AC-E interfaces a differential encoder, providing a 16-bit counting, in addition to functions like fast input, fast output, and zero-index signal.

ENCODER FUNCTIONS

  • 5 V differential encoder interface, 16-bit counting, interface with 12-V and 24-V drives, differential or not;

  • zero-index signal, fast input, and fast output (0-24 V);

  • encoder sampling synchronized with the TRS bus, and constant delay;

  • return interface of the encoder input signals in a RS-422/TTL format, zero-index signal, fast input, and fast output.
