General features

The OEM Cut Optimizer is a geometric software DLL library used to solve guillotine-cut problems by optimizing the space management when positioning rectangular pieces. This technology can be used with different machines like panel saws, guillotine shears, paper/carton cutters, etc.
It offers the possibility to import directly CSV or XML file lists and export the results in the same formats. It can be integraded in software
developed in C++ or C# running as hidden, offers also a user interface to help debugging and allows a woodworker to use it as a stand-alone software solution for their sliding table saw.

It is possible for the client to develop import and export plug-ins for special file formats.

Utilities

This software is fully developed by Tpa and can run important functions, such as:

  • up to 6 cut levels (with possibility to reduce it to a lower number);

  • no panel limits, the software tests more than 40,000 panels;

  • multiple possible solutions;

  • management of sheet inventory (quantity, dimensions, grain, priority, etc.);

  • corner and first cut direction management;

  • material and thickness match between panels and sheet in the inventory;

  • possibility to save list and to create a PDF report;

  • creation and management of rest and waste material;

  • cost calculation;

  • label editor.

Tension-Release Cut

The software includes a special setting related to tension-release cuts that can be needed when using specific materials.
With materials with an internal tension, like wood, this is released when it is cut, deforming the linearity of the cut itself. This causes quality problems with long cuts: these are curved instead of straight.
OEM Cut Optimizer allows you to assign an additional gap between the cuts to the first cut level (the longest cuts), that will be added to the tool thickness and will be exported in the optimization results in a specific field of the file.
In this way, based on characteristics of the material, the developed machine UI software that uses this library can perform its own strategy in the additional space between the cuts, making a partial pre-cut to release the tension of the material before actually performing the cut.
